Job Overview

CBSbutler is seeking a highly skilled Opto-Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As an Opto-Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our cutting-edge opto-mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the design of in-house mounting arrangements for optics, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive and flow down requirements, review designs, and manage requirements for opto-mechanical technologies.
  • Design and develop mechanical components to support opto-mechanical system assembly and verification, with a focus on precision and accuracy.
  • Provide hands-on support during opto-mechanical system integration and testing, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality results.
  • Contribute to the development of mechanical design and analysis work on our core products, including imaging packages for space and associated ground-based cryogenic test camera systems.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of precision mechanical mounting of optics for structural, dynamic, and thermal environments.
  • Ability to review and oversee opto-mechanical designs, particularly during sub-contractor design progression through gate reviews.
  • Working knowledge of CAD packages and design analysis tools.
  • Proven experience in design and analysis applicable to opto-mechanics, with a focus on precision and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of requirements management principles, including compliance verification matrices, DFMEA, and risk registers.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and organize own work and the work of others, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present design compliance at major gate reviews.
