Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse (BAND 6) to join our Medical Day Unit team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Kingston Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care and delivering evidence-led care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and supportive care therapies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise shifts, communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Exercise clinical judgment and decision-making about patient needs, ensuring long-term goals and plans are met.
  • Participate in the day-to-day organization and running of clinical trials, including recruitment, education, and monitoring of patients.
  • Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to patients, adhering to the NMC code of conduct.
  • Contribute to Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure hospital policies and procedures are observed.
  • Foster a supportive working environment and maintain staff morale.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in a laboratory role.
  • Experience of MS Excel and MS Word, including creating and using spreadsheets.
  • Able to perform basic training.
