This role presents an excellent opportunity for someone eager to advance their career within an organization that offers genuine potential for impact, growth, and development in a fast-paced and transformative environment.
Reporting to the HR Business Partner for Howden Consumer & Local Commercial, this position is essential for promoting recruitment best practices and providing high-touch business partnering support as we aim to embed and enhance our recruitment model.
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in implementing consistent recruitment practices across multiple locations and will have a background in hiring within fast-paced, highly commercial, and entrepreneurial settings. Furthermore, you will have experience in delivering beyond daily operations and collaborating with the broader HR team and other Centers of Expertise (CoE) to achieve strategic HR initiatives and priorities. In summary, this is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and forward-thinking recruiter to join us on an exciting journey as we continue to expand.
Key Responsibilities
Implement best practice hiring tools and techniques to support the decentralized recruitment model across Howden Consumer & Local Commercial. Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the recruitment team brand and encourage managers to engage with the recruitment team at all levels. Lead strategic Talent Acquisition initiatives in partnership with CoEs and HRBPs, aligning with the broader integrated HR Plan designed to drive business growth and foster a high-performance culture. Assist hiring managers throughout the entire recruitment process, from initiation to onboarding and pre-hire. Act as an employer brand ambassador for the group, ensuring a first-class candidate experience at every stage of the recruitment process. Work closely with the broader HR team and line managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of resourcing needs. Proactively source talent for selected vacancies using various organic direct sourcing channels (social media, online forums, CV databases, etc.). Maintain and develop a comprehensive suite of assessment tools, evolving them as necessary. Actively contribute to and influence the recruitment process, providing best practice advice to hiring managers, recommending appropriate selection methods, and ensuring an inclusive hiring process. Generate regular reports for HR teams and the wider business using agreed recruitment metrics, ensuring diversity and inclusion are prioritized. Coach hiring managers to enhance their interviewing, assessment, and selection skills, educating the wider business on the group's recruitment approach and challenging practices where appropriate. Maintain the Workday Recruiting ATS (Applicant Tracking System) for all roles to ensure accurate reporting.Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a recruiter with a keen eye for identifying exceptional talent for both current and future roles. Ability to think strategically beyond daily operational requirements, supporting the wider recruitment team in delivering strategic initiatives and projects. A collaborative team player with a strong drive and ambition to foster a positive work environment and achieve results. Commercial awareness and a demonstrable ability to understand stakeholder groups. Exceptional communication and influencing skills. Enjoyment of working in a fast-paced environment, capable of generating a quality pipeline of candidates under tight time constraints. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Adaptability in style, quick thinking, and a proactive mindset. What We Offer
A career path defined by you. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no singular 'Howden type.' Instead, we seek individuals who share our core values:
Our achievements stem from those brave enough to explore new avenues. We support one another in both the small daily moments and the larger challenges. We are committed to making a positive impact at work and beyond.Reasonable Adjustments
We are dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure our positions align well with your needs. In addition to standard adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes, including flexible hours or hybrid working arrangements.
If you are intrigued by this role but have concerns about whether it aligns with your skills, we encourage you to submit your application – if your profile meets the role's criteria, we will reach out to assist you in making any necessary reasonable adjustments.
