Job Title: Health and Safety Administrator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health and Safety Administrator to join our team at Spire Clare Hospital. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the provision of high-quality and safe care and services at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement the delivery of Health and Safety at the facility, supporting the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Collate and analyze H&S incidents, trends, and near misses, providing insights to inform risk management and improvement initiatives.
  • Update local health and safety arrangements and policies, distributing them throughout the facility to ensure awareness and compliance.
  • Maintain the Hospital Wide Action Plan spreadsheet, following up on outstanding actions as directed by the Health and Safety Manager.
  • Administer Health and Safety Flash alerts, responding to the central health and safety team within the required timeframe and collating departmental responses.
  • Manage Health and Safety Training records, assisting with course registration and issuing certificates as required.
  • Advise the Health and Safety Manager on any actions or risk assessments not being managed in a timely manner.
  • Take minutes and distribute minutes of all Health and Safety meetings, including Water, Fire, Waste Management, and Safety Representatives meetings.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in the healthcare industry or a similar customer-oriented organization.
  • Ideally 3 years of administration experience.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and risk issues, as well as relevant legislation.
  • Competent user of the MS Office suite of products.
  • Ability to manage competing pressures and conflicting priorities effectively.
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Car driver ideally.
