Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

ABOUT THIS POSITION

In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Chief People Officer and collaborate closely with the HR team, key internal stakeholders, and external partners. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the HR Operations Team and the HR Service Centre function.

As a central figure in HR service delivery, you will provide leadership and direction to a team of six, ensuring the delivery of a proactive and effective service to the organization, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will encompass managing the entire employee lifecycle processes, including payroll, benefits administration, company-wide bonus and salary reviews, budget oversight, supplier management (specifically for our outsourced payroll provider), and ensuring HR compliance. You will also focus on continuously enhancing the experience for both employees and managers.

As the organization undergoes growth and transformation, you will lead a comprehensive review of essential processes, aiming to boost efficiency and optimize digital solutions. Additionally, you will spearhead a review of the HR Information System (HRIS), collaborating with core business functions to implement enhancements in HR technology across the organization. This initiative is a significant undertaking for the HR team.

ABOUT YOU

This position is ideal for an individual with extensive generalist HR experience and proven team management capabilities. You should possess a robust understanding of payroll, benefits, and people processes, with a strong focus on driving continuous improvement.

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate commercial insight and effectively align HR service operations with strategic business objectives, maintaining a strong focus on business-as-usual (BAU) activities. You will adeptly balance the necessity for long-term planning with meticulous attention to the details of BAU, guiding the broader HR team to ensure process alignment across various HR functions.

Experience in leading an HR Operations function through periods of change, achieving efficiencies, and implementing process improvements will be advantageous. Familiarity with leading or executing an HRIS development project is highly desirable.

You should be self-driven, an effective communicator, and passionate about delivering exceptional service to the organization. You will mentor and coach your team to foster their development while enhancing the operational aspects of the function.

Essential Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in HR generalist roles, managing an HR Shared Services or People Operations function.
  • Current expertise in monthly payroll, pensions, and benefits processing, with a solid background in HR compliance, including pre-employment checks.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering HR projects.
  • Experience in managing a budget or cost centre.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining strong organizational and time management skills to meet key operational deadlines.
  • Effective and confident communicator, capable of managing suppliers and internal business stakeholders.
