About the Role:

A reputable compliance safety organization is on the lookout for a Technical Lead Qualifying Supervisor (QS) to enhance its team. In this pivotal position, you will collaborate with the engineering division to ensure that inspection and testing outcomes are precisely documented and adhere to British NICEIC standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Elevate the quality and professionalism of services by establishing and maintaining systems that uphold the highest technical and administrative standards within the Electrical Division.
  2. Collaborate with the Head of Electrical to oversee all pertinent statutory and non-statutory standards, ensuring continuous compliance.
  3. Supervise the ongoing professional development of all electrically trained personnel.
  4. Guarantee that daily operations align with the stringent standards set by legislative, regulatory, and accreditation bodies.
  5. Lead the technical team, ensuring adherence to all processes and controls to maintain compliance.
  6. Ensure the accuracy and operational readiness of the Electrical department's testing equipment.
  7. Address complex technical inquiries from staff and clients that other technical management members cannot resolve.
  8. Conduct post-audit inspections and certify completed works to confirm they meet industry standards.
  9. Review and oversee technical inspections performed by field-based engineers under the guidance of other technical management staff.
  10. Provide initial and ongoing training for engineers, maintaining precise training records to ensure compliance with quality management systems.
  11. Act as the primary liaison for NICEIC assessments, participating in annual assessment visits across the UK.
  12. Lead the technical components of tender opportunities and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the field-based engineering teams.
  13. Manage accreditations and stay updated on legislative changes to ensure ongoing compliance.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • In-depth knowledge of NICEIC compliance and accreditation.
  • Extensive industry experience.
  • Minimum Level 3 electrical qualification and 18th Edition certification.
  • Strong understanding of IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations, Codes of Practice, and related guidance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to foster effective team relationships.
  • Strong commitment to first-call resolution, effectively addressing issues to prevent recurrence.
