Role Objective
The primary aim of this position is to evaluate the robustness and efficiency of the bank's internal control systems, ensuring the mitigation of risks while safeguarding the bank's operational, financial, and reputational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with diverse stakeholders across the organization to enhance overall control efficiency through meticulous documentation of control evaluations, procedures, and outcomes.
- Detect and analyze potential vulnerabilities and issues within internal controls to foster ongoing enhancement and risk reduction in line with the bank's control framework, prioritized by their potential impact on operations.
- Generate reports to convey significant findings from risk evaluations, including control deficiencies and suggestions to control owners, senior management, and other relevant parties.
- Conduct assessments to ascertain the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework, aligned with established and evolving policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with the Barclays Controls Framework and establish a suitable methodology for evaluating controls against this framework.
- Provide counsel to key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, regarding functional and cross-functional impacts and alignment.
- Oversee and mitigate risks through thorough assessments, supporting the control and governance agenda.
- Exhibit leadership and accountability in managing risks and enhancing controls related to your team's activities.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of organizational functions to contribute effectively to business objectives.
- Collaborate with other operational areas to stay informed about business activities and strategies.
- Develop solutions based on advanced analytical thinking, comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis and interpretative reasoning will be essential for defining issues and crafting innovative solutions.

As a Finance CCO VP at Barclays, you will engage with a range of Finance disciplines throughout the complete life cycle of Entities and Finance Transaction Cycles, encompassing financial and regulatory reporting, Treasury, Product Control, Valuations, and Planning & Stress Testing. You will be part of a supportive, collaborative global team, working with various stakeholders both internal and external to Barclays.
