About the Role

This exciting opportunity is available for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Kent and Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust. As a key member of our Community Mental Health Team, you will have the chance to showcase your clinical expertise and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical input to patients under the care of the Community Mental Health Team, attending CPAs for enhanced patients and providing urgent assessment/advice as required.
  • Lead on screening of new referrals to the team, working in a rotational capacity with other Consultants.
  • Participate in service/team evaluation and planning for future service developments.
  • Empower the team to resolve local issues using quality improvement tools and methods.
  • Manage, appraise, and provide professional supervision to junior medical staff, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to service and business planning for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
  • Join the Consultant on-call rota, with a current 1:30 non-residential commitment and remuneration package.

Requirements
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
  • MRCPsych
  • Additional clinical qualifications
