Position Title:
Senior Project Management Leader

Working hours: Monday to Friday - 37 hours per week. OCS Group UK is a prominent facilities management organization that has recently undergone a merger, enhancing our capabilities and service offerings.

We specialize in delivering a comprehensive suite of services, including but not limited to cleaning, catering, security, technical support, energy management, compliance, front-of-house services, landscaping, logistics, waste management, and pest control.

With a turnover of £5 billion, we operate extensively across the UK and Ireland, employing 50,000 professionals dedicated to providing innovative, award-winning solutions to both private and public sector clients while actively supporting the communities we serve.

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Management Leader to join our Project Team, focusing on a significant National Government contract. The ideal candidate must possess Government SC Security clearance due to the sensitive nature of this role.

The Senior Project Management Leader will oversee multiple projects, ensuring the successful execution of complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives. Familiarity with CCS terms and conditions is advantageous.

This role involves collaboration with clients, professional service providers, and suppliers to guarantee that each project adheres to the established Project Plan—delivered safely, punctually, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for managing client expectations and ensuring all projects align with OCS's management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Overseeing the financial performance and monthly reporting of projects, which includes a thorough understanding of the tender and a review of the costs outlined in the bid.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication with the client throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Meeting or exceeding client expectations for each project.
  • Planning and organizing work to achieve key milestones and completion dates.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Setting up strategic planning controls that encompass the full scope of work across all disciplines, including procurement schedules, technical proposals, construction method evaluations, value enhancement, and risk analysis.
  • Monitoring and assessing project requirements and achievements, identifying potential issues that may affect project delivery, and escalating them as necessary.
  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments related to health, safety, environmental impact, and product quality.
  • Regularly reviewing the Project Management Plan and contractor methodologies to ensure their suitability for the tasks at hand.
  • Preparing the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan (CPP) or Management Plan (MP) along with all associated documentation during project handover.

Ensuring that all personnel and contractors are aware of their legal obligations and the health and safety requirements outlined in the CPP or MP is crucial. This includes:

  • Ensuring compliance with RAMS and any site-specific requirements imposed by OCS and the client.
  • Completing risk assessments and method statements as required and conducting toolbox talks on all projects.
  • Addressing any action points arising from site safety surveys, audits, accident reports, and other recommendations.
  • Fostering a positive safety culture by leading by example.
  • Reporting and investigating all health, safety, and environmental incidents and complaints.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in successfully managing multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience in commercial management and reporting on work in progress (WIP).
  • Current or pursuing RICS chartership or a similar Project Management qualification (CIOB / APM).
  • A valid driving license.
