About the Role

As a Project Design Engineer at Bühler, you will play a crucial role in bringing innovative engineering solutions to life. You'll be responsible for all aspects of project design, from initial concept development to detailed drawings and specifications.

Your Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with sales and project teams to define project objectives based on client proposals and plans.
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive engineering design documents, including process flow diagrams, site plans, civil/mechanical piping drawings, building indication drawings, and specifications. Utilize AutoCAD to produce layout sketches, detail drawings, and flow sheets, conducting site visits as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure clear communication of technical requirements and verify equipment suitability.
  • Prepare handover protocols for projects, ensuring seamless transitions to the engineering team.
  • Determine project specifications by analyzing product designs, customer needs, performance standards, and conducting technical studies. Prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Submit all procedures and calculations to clients for review and approval, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Develop and manage project schedules by studying plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Monitor project progress, coordinate activities, and resolve issues to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Review design, specifications, and plan/schedule changes, recommending actions to ensure project success.
  • Promote a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations, including method statements and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial/Project Manager to agree on deviations from standard commercial terms and conditions.
  • Provide support to colleagues within the department on project-related tasks.
Your Profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project Design Engineer with a strong technical background.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in machine layout drafting (2D/3D) using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and create detailed engineering drawings in 2D/3D within AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of universal drafting standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing detailed mechanical designs for plant systems, such as pneumatic conveying and aspiration diagrams. This includes creating isometric diagrams of pneumatic schemes and associated documentation (BOMs and installation drawings).
  • Full Valid UK Driving License.
