In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being throughout their journey. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with doctors, therapists, and social workers to deliver holistic and individualized care.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert palliative care to patients in various settings, including the community, hospital wards, and hospice.
  • Assess patient needs, develop personalized care plans, and implement interventions to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, navigating the complexities of a life-limiting illness.
  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals on palliative care principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless and coordinated care.
Essential Criteria:
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
  • Proven experience in palliative care nursing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience in acute medical/emergency department nursing.
  • Experience in breaking bad news to patients and families.
  • Sound knowledge of palliative care emergencies and their management.
