About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHSFT. As a key member of our Stroke and TIA service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients and contributing to the further development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist diagnosis, treatment, and care to patients with stroke and TIA, to a high standard.
  • Participate in the Consultant stroke on-call rota, providing out-of-hours cover and ensuring seamless acute and community stroke care.
  • Lead and develop the Stroke and TIA outpatient services, including new and follow-up clinics.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, guidelines, and concise care bundles.
  • Teach and train junior staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Act as clinical/educational supervisor to locally employed doctors and doctors in training programmes.
  • Participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council.
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in General Internal Medicine or Stroke.
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) at time of interview.
