Reporting to the People Manager, you will deliver operational HR and project assistance. This role emphasizes a comprehensive HR focus while also allowing for active participation in proactive talent management, organizational transformation, resource allocation, and HR enhancement initiatives. Additionally, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement to ensure that all contractual objectives are met and sustained through effective people performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert advice and generalist HR support across multiple contracts.
- Cultivate strong, ongoing relationships at all levels, establishing yourself as a credible and respected advisor, addressing queries directly, and guiding managers towards best practices.
- Oversee the execution of essential people processes such as absence management, maternity, paternity, flexible working arrangements, and probation assessments.
- Assist management in the performance evaluation of individuals and other employee relations matters, including performance improvement plans, capability issues, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
- Generate precise weekly and monthly reports as required.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance team operations and customer support; proactively address challenges and devise solutions.
- Aid in training and developing managers on people-related issues, ensuring adherence to processes and compliance with legislation.
- Provide HR support for various operational business projects, including new business acquisitions and TUPE processes.
- Facilitate recruitment efforts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and the selection of the most suitable candidates.
- Enhance absence management practices, including the proactive management of welfare meetings and occupational health referrals.
- Support cyclical activities such as salary reviews, bonuses, performance assessments, employee engagement, and succession planning.
- Demonstrated HR experience within the logistics sector.
- Proficient in delivering pragmatic, tailored HR guidance.
- Experience in assisting managers with employee relations challenges.
- CIPD Level 3 qualification or a commitment to pursue it.
- Strong understanding of UK employment legislation.
- Exceptional organizational skills and initiative, with the capability to manage daily HR processes efficiently.
- Proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities.
- A passion for developing and supporting colleagues to reach their full potential.
- Pragmatic, resilient, and self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills with a natural aptitude for building relationships swiftly.
- Previous experience with Oracle systems is advantageous.
