Maternity Services Manager

Cabrini Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Midwife to lead our Maternity Services team at Cabrini Malvern. As a key leadership position, this role offers a unique opportunity to build on current leadership experience and drive innovation in maternal and newborn health.

About the Role

This permanent full-time position involves managing inpatient maternity services, leading and supervising staff, coordinating clinical activities, overseeing finances, and promoting ongoing quality improvement. The successful candidate will be passionate about optimizing patient safety and ensuring an exceptional experience for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage inpatient maternity services, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes
  • Lead and supervise staff, promoting a cohesive and patient-centred care team
  • Coordinate clinical activities, including birth suites, Special Care Nursery, and antenatal and postnatal rooms
  • Oversee finances, ensuring effective budget management and resource allocation
  • Promote ongoing quality improvement, driving innovation and best practices in maternal and newborn health
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Maternity Unit
  • Previous management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in change management
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Adaptable to change within an evolving service
  • Commitment to quality patient care and outcomes
  • High-level organisational skills
  • A qualification in management or working towards it will be highly regarded
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Cabrini Health
