Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Redmore Recruitment limited is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that buildings, facilities, and equipment are in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Routine Maintenance:
    • Perform regular inspections of premises and equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
    • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs to maintain the overall condition of the facilities.
  • Repairs:
    • Carry out repairs on electrical systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
    • Fix structural damage, including doors, windows, walls, and flooring to maintain the integrity of the facilities.
    • Repair and replace faulty or damaged components to prevent further damage and ensure safety.
  • Emergency Maintenance:
    • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to prevent further damage and ensure safety.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including risk assessments and safety checks to ensure compliance.
  • Coordination:
    • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects to ensure timely completion and quality workmanship.
    • Assist in managing and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and tools to ensure availability and efficiency.
  • Customer Service:
    • Interact professionally with building occupants and address their maintenance concerns to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Provide updates and reports to the Management team on the status of ongoing work to ensure transparency and accountability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in maintenance-related fields (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds).
  • Experience: Proven experience in maintenance and repair work, ideally within a similar environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in a variety of maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environments.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Driving License: A valid UK driving license.
Working Conditions:
  • Environment: Work may be indoors or outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather conditions.
  • Safety: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
