About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Mission Zero Technologies. As a key member of our Delivery team, you will play a critical role in the design and delivery of our direct-air capture technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of novel machines or systems through all stages of the product life cycle.
  • Finalize design and deliver our first technology deployments at industrial scale.
  • Ensure effective deployment, hook-up, and interfacing with host sites.
  • Develop and implement safe electro-mechanical designs internally and with external contractors.
  • Interfacing with key external vendors for mechanical and electrical packages.
  • Support project management in technical delivery of detailed plant design and analysis for pilot and commercial systems.
Requirements
  • 10 years minimum industrial experience delivering projects with significant mechanical and electrical design content.
  • MEng Engineering Degree with Mechanical and/or Electrical focus.
  • Experience and understanding of the full machine/product development cycle.
  • Ability to use 3D CAD Modelling Software with a PLM system.
  • A passion for developing technical solutions for global challenges.
  • Strong practical skills, comfortable with hands-on work and desk-based tasks.
  • Expert understanding of mechanical packaging philosophy and procurement.
  • Ability to design and critically evaluate GAs, 3D models, P&IDs.
  • Good understanding of hazard and risk identification.
  • Experience in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA & FMEA.
  • Breadth of exposure to process unit operations and mechanical packaged systems.
  • Chartered engineering status with IMechE, IEEE, IET or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of materials in the context of chemical and weathering resistance.
  • Experience designing, running, and supporting research scale, pilots, and/or commercial plants.
  • Basic understanding of fundamental electrochemistry principles.
