Job Overview: SHEQ Compliance Leader
Location: Newton Aycliffe
Salary Range: £40,000 - £55,000
Objective:
The SHEQ Compliance Leader is responsible for the management of safety, health, environmental, and quality assurance initiatives. This role ensures that the organization’s products and services adhere to established quality benchmarks while fostering a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement SHEQ programs and frameworks.
- Provide guidance on SHEQ-related regulations and internal standards.
- Perform routine safety audits and investigate incidents.
- Create and disseminate monthly SHEQ communication plans.
- Serve as the CDM Coordinator and oversee health and safety audit preparations.
- Maintain existing quality certifications and seek new accreditations.
- Offer SHEQ expertise to both management and employees.
- Support investigations of incidents and conduct risk assessments.
- Coordinate occupational health and safety evaluations.
- Develop and oversee annual SHEQ action plans.
- Ensure adherence to the permit-to-work system.
- Act as the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).
- Assist in the preparation of tender and submission documents.
Key Stakeholders:
- All personnel on site, including management and contractors.
- Internal and external auditors as well as regulatory authorities.
Required Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- CSCS Black Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Fire Prevention and Risk Management Certificate
- Environmental Management Systems Certification
- General Management Qualification
- Graduate IOSH Status or CMIOSH status
Required Experience:
- At least 5 years in a SHEQ Management position within the construction sector.
- Proficiency in risk management, site evaluations, audit readiness, compliance, and risk analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SHEQ-related laws and standards.
- Familiarity with BSI ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
