Project Engineer

At Mercury Hampton, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for producing accurate and technically sound design solutions within project budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop structural 2D and 3D models using analysis and design software, ensuring compliance with building regulations and design standards.
  • Create practical and efficient connection details tailored to project requirements, utilizing both digital and hand-drawn sketches for effective communication.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and design, and produce clear structural reports for client approval and internal communication.
  • Assist in the production of technical method statements and assessment of structural aspects related to safe installation.
  • Ensure designs comply with CDM regulations, relevant building regulations, and design codes.
  • Complete Design Risk Assessments specific to each project.
  • Stay updated on UK and European engineering standards, building regulations, and new software relevant to the role.
  • Continuously develop and improve skills and knowledge through CPD sessions and training courses.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in steelwork, from design through to fabrication and installation.
  • Familiarity with Rstab, IDEA Statica, Mepla, AutoCAD, or similar software is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
