About the Role:
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the coordination and communication of the delivery status for live purchase orders and scheduling of incoming goods based on existing or predicted customer demand. This role will work closely with partners across Europe to deliver a competitive range of energy storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing requirements to ensure a competitive edge in the market.
- Update internal databases with order details, including dates, suppliers, quantities, and discounts, to maintain accurate records.
- Monitor purchase orders to ensure materials are delivered on time, at the agreed price, and within specification.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best commercial arrangements and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with the Operations team, including Scheduling and Customer Service, to minimize any issues that may impact customer requirements.
- Maintain regular contact with key suppliers to resolve problems, improve service levels, and increase efficiencies.
- Ensure the prompt return of any stock that is deemed unfit for use to the supplier.
- Identify areas for improvement to drive performance and business results.
- Manage the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement for the organization.
- Research and propose new products and suppliers as required to ensure the best commercial arrangements are achieved.
- Maintain accurate MRP data in relation to min/max stock levels, quality standards, and minimize costs.
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, including Vlookup, filtering, formatting, and data management.
- Understanding of budget control and budget management.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strategic thinking and ability to negotiate with suppliers for favorable terms.
- Competent and confident within a finance team and in dealing with the wider business.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and high degree of computer literacy, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Regularly review working practices and processes to identify and implement improvement initiatives throughout the Supply Chain function.
