Commercial Contracts Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Contracts Specialist to join our team at Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, advising on public procurement, and providing expert guidance to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts to ensure compliance with public procurement regulations.
  • Providing expert advice on public procurement, including tendering and contract management.
  • Dealing with funding and grant agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Advising on complex/multi-million pound projects, providing strategic guidance to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with a strong understanding of commercial contracts and public procurement.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with a focus on public procurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide expert advice to stakeholders.
