Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Additional Support for Learning Teacher to join our Primary Inclusion Team within the Supporting Learners Service in the East of the authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on an outreach basis in schools across the East, supporting staff in identifying and assessing barriers to learning, and managing challenging behaviors through individualized teaching support, targeted interventions, observations, advice, and guidance, mentoring, and training.
  • Teach in the Inclusion Base in Dumfries, providing individualized support to students with additional support needs.
  • Work in partnership with appropriate agencies and parents to support student needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to support students with additional support needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support students with additional support needs.
Requirements
  • Extended teaching experience, with a proven track record of working with students with additional support needs.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of working with students with a range of additional support needs, including those with complex needs.
  • Registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, in the appropriate sector.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
