Job Summary:

Oyster Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team in Derby. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and extensive project management experience in a custom fabrication and manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery within budget and in line with company objectives.
  • Support the Head of Projects in technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong leadership to ensure successful project execution.
  • Work collaboratively with the project management team to play a pivotal role in project success.
  • Travel to customer sites across the region, requiring a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (compensated with a generous car allowance).

Requirements:

  • A project management qualification with at least 5 years of hands-on experience within a closely related industry.
  • HNC qualified or equivalent.
  • CDM knowledge (Construction, Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Extensive experience in client-facing roles, including gathering initial project briefs, coordinating with all relevant parties, and confidently presenting and negotiating with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel overseas on occasion.

Desirable Skills:

  • Gas Turbine knowledge.
  • Fabrication / manufacturing project management.
  • Experience of Large Oil and Gas/ Power projects.
  • Understanding of the capabilities of Primavera P3e, Microsoft Project or Asta project planning software.
