Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Control Specialist to join our team at Thames Water. As a Process Control Specialist, you will be responsible for the remote monitoring and control of water treatment processes via SCADA systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control water treatment processes via SCADA systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with the treatment process, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Respond to emergencies, such as process failures or power outages, and implement established procedures to escalate and stabilize the situation.
  • Conduct water quality sampling and testing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including shift logs and operational reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Water Quality, Maintenance, and Strategic Control, to resolve issues and improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in procedures and asset standards, and contribute to the development of new procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • Hands-on and practical experience with SCADA systems and water treatment processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
  • Desirable: LTO and driving license.
