Our client is a worldwide leader in the creation and distribution of sustainable packaging solutions for various sectors, including food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience as a Senior Quality Assurance Technician, responsible for product release and conducting regular hygiene and pest control audits to ensure compliance with industry standards such as BRC and AIB. This role requires a strong understanding of production environments, focusing on effective product release processes aligned with inspection protocols and laboratory testing outcomes, supported by a team of Laboratory Technicians.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive starting salary of £30,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform weekly and monthly hygiene and pest audits to uphold BRC and AIB compliance.
- Assist the Site Quality Manager with monthly pest control and hygiene inspections.
- Investigate both internal and external non-conformances to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Analyze product quality to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and evaluate quality performance through statistical analysis and process control.
- Collaborate with laboratory technicians to clarify priorities.
- Address customer incidents effectively.
Principal Responsibilities
- Ensure all team members are adequately trained to perform their tasks, with standard work procedures and risk assessments in place.
- Conduct thorough internal audits of the quality management system and support external audits.
- Establish and manage a system to address all incidents daily, ensuring proper analysis and decision-making regarding product disposition and dispatch priorities.
- Support the Site Quality Manager in efficiently addressing all non-conformances, providing necessary analysis and decision-making.
- Carry out assigned audits according to the established audit schedule.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a manufacturing setting is essential.
- Experience in conducting audits and evaluating results is required.
- Proficiency in SAP, shop floor systems, Microsoft Office Excel, and Minitab is necessary.
- Six Sigma training is a plus.
- HACCP training is advantageous.
- A relevant technical or scientific qualification, ideally BTEC HNC or equivalent, is preferred.
