Lead Design Engineer

Techniche Global Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Lead Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of interior trim components for leading automotive manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of interior trim components, ensuring cost competitiveness and functional leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate design concepts and ideas.
  • Develop and manage design estimations for cost of change from benchmark.
  • Prepare styling feedback and technical requirements for A-Surface feasibility.
  • Manage and coordinate with other departments and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
New Model Sourcing:
  • Create RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and review supplier concepts for cost and quality.
  • Analyze quotes and breakdowns to identify challenge points and queries.
  • Validate supplier quotes meet the RFQ and concept needs.
  • Present status to management and engage with supplier technical and commercial teams.
Lifecycle Cost Management:
  • Generate technical cost reduction ideas and benchmark against internal and competitor references.
  • Manage supplier activity and internal reporting.
  • Develop cost reduction design changes with suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have previous automotive design and development experience, as well as knowledge of interior cabin parts/modules, manufacturing processes, and cost breakdown analysis. A valid driving license and ability to travel globally are also required.
