Job Title: EO/LO (Seeker) Systems Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EO/LO (Seeker) Systems Engineer to join our team at Leonardo. As a key player in the Aerospace, Defence and Security sector, we are looking for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation.

The successful candidate will have expertise in Electromagnetics and experience in the domain of Low Observability. They will work on Electro-Optical and multi-mode Sensor systems within the Precision Guidance sector, contributing to the development and growth of our EO/LO technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of technology maturation, modelling and simulation, prototype build and test activities
  • Perform, analyse and communicate signature predictions
  • Engage in research, design and computational electromagnetic modelling of advanced electromagnetic metamaterials
  • Perform, post-process and communicate results of laboratory and trial signature measurements
  • Present results and designs through written reports and oral presentations
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to others, promoting a culture of sharing best practice and process improvement

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline
  • Working knowledge of radar cross section reduction (RCSR), radio-frequency (RF) antenna design, electro-optics, radar, RF materials and RF material measurements
  • Expertise in LO modelling and predictions: computational electromagnetics (CEM), CST Microwave Studio, FEKO or similar
  • Awareness of Systems Engineering across the whole lifecycle
  • Knowledge/skills in at least one of the following areas of Electromagnetics: Low Observables, Stealth Technology, Electromagnetic Capability (EMC), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Radiofrequency (RF), Antenna design/modelling, Computational Electromagnetic Modelling (CEM)
