Job Summary

We are seeking a talented MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As an MEP Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in our team, with responsibilities including conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies, and managing costs. You will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including construction and consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies and contract selection.
  • Write and undertake procurement reports.
  • Apply value management techniques at the outset of a project.
  • Manage, estimate, and plan costs, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Negotiate and agree on final accounts.
  • Represent the firm to clients, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Handle contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract.
  • Identify and act upon opportunities to enhance our cost management procedures, templates, and products.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrate a strong background in MEP quantity surveying with a proven track record.
  • Ideally, you are MRICS or working towards chartership.
  • Essential experience with pre-contract services.
  • Expertise in cost planning, budgeting, and estimating.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks in construction.
  • Proven ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration.
  • Understanding of value engineering and life cycle costing.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Awareness of critical issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, and Carbon Reduction impacting the Public Sector.
