Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Associate to provide high-quality care to our patients. Our practice delivers care to a large patient population across four sites, with a well-established nursing team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the nursing and medical team to ensure efficient and effective provision of nursing services.
  • Ensure effective working of treatment rooms and maintain adequate clinical stock levels.
  • Undertake health promotion activities as directed by the nurse manager within agreed delegated competencies.
  • Collect blood samples, ensuring patient comfort and obtaining consent.
  • Accurately label and store samples, checking patient identification and recording collection in patient records.
  • Perform vaccinations, blood pressure recordings, ECGs, spirometry, and audiometry appointments, as well as wound dressings and removal of sutures/staples.
  • Act as a chaperone, maintain agreed stock levels of clinical supplies, and work alongside a practice nurse in chronic disease management clinics.
  • Ensure effective use of the IT system, maintaining accurate and consistent recording of information.

Person Specification
  • GCSE level maths and English or equivalent.
  • Previous Phlebotomy, nursing, or other Health Care Assistant experience.
  • Experience of working with or in general practice, or with healthcare professionals in the NHS or social care.
