About the Role
Newcastle College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lecturer in Hairdressing. As a key member of our curriculum team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality learning experiences that meet the needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching and learning strategies that promote student progression and retention.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Monitor student progress and implement timely interventions to ensure students meet their targets.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans that meet the needs of our students.
- Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters student success.
Requirements
- Hold a qualification to honours degree level or an equivalent industry-recognised standard to a minimum of level 3 in hairdressing.
- Hold a post-16 teaching qualification, accompanied by English and maths qualifications at Level 2, or be committed to achieving these within an agreed timeframe.
- Have experience in delivering effective education/training in Further Education (FE) and/or Apprenticeships.
- Have a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.
- Possess exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, and digital literacy.
- Be able to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines, and adapt to flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends based on demand.
