Quality Assurance Manager
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily quality and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to established company processes and protocols. You will collaborate with various departments within the organization to guarantee the effective functioning of the management system, while fostering a culture of compliance, conformity, and ongoing enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and provide guidance on the performance of the quality management system, generating data and reports to assess performance against predetermined standards.
- Engage with managers and staff across the organization to confirm the proper operation of the quality management system.
- Align strategic business objectives by planning, directing, and coordinating relevant activities.
- Maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System that meets all legal obligations.
- Serve as the Food Safety Team Leader, ensuring the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and updating of the FSMS and QMS.
- Organize and manage the food safety team's operations.
- Coordinate essential training and competency development for the food safety team, including in-house health and safety and food safety training.
- Report on the effectiveness and appropriateness of the FSMS and QMS as an integral member of the management team.
- Play a crucial role in effective auditing and preparation for audits of production processes.
- Assist in the risk management processes.
- Approve new suppliers and manage supplier relationships and raw material specifications, proactively addressing supplier incidents in collaboration with procurement.
- Identify non-conformance within the company and drive corrective actions.
- Support project management and the internal audit system, including audits related to company accreditations.
- Manage customer relations effectively, including proactive handling of complaints, customer liaison, and facilitating corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction, as well as managing customer audits and visits as necessary.
- Support the regular review and management of HACCP, TACCP & VACCP, and the Quality Manual.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in the Food Science or Food Manufacturing Industry.
- Knowledge and experience in leading internal or supplier audits.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, or BRC standards, as well as Kosher certification.
- Proficiency with IT systems for producing documentation related to Quality Management.
- At least Level 3 HACCP and Food Safety & Hygiene certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
