About the Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spares Support Engineer to join our dynamic team at Siemens Energy. This role is crucial in supporting the Fluid and Mechanical Systems by reviewing, identifying and sourcing of equivalent instrumentation and components as a result of obsolescence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Evaluation/Identification: Identify and source equivalent instrumentation and components for gas turbine package auxiliary systems, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including specifications and drawings.
  • Obsolescence Management: Identify replacement for obsolete components and develop change out kits as required to maintain the functionality of our equipment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, regional divisions, suppliers, and customers to ensure the availability and quality of the replacement parts are defined within allocated timescales.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Experience in a Spares Engineering role within an associated or similar industry.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in system components and technologies, such as pumps, valves, piping, actuators, and instrumentation. Working knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations applicable to fluid systems design and safety in relation to auxiliary packaged systems.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with SAP, AUTOCAD, Siemens NX, Siemens PLM would be advantageous. Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required.
  • Communication and Coordination: Exceptional communication and coordination abilities are essential.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to think clearly and solve problems effectively with attention to detail.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple spares simultaneously and deliver them within set timescales.
