About the Role

Mitie is seeking an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to manage a cleaning team, including recruitment and development of staff, and maintain excellent service standards for delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning for a Mitie customer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning.
  • Ensure that all the cleaning staff understand and work to task schedules while following the correct Health & Safety procedures.
  • Provide technical training as and when required.
  • Monitor standards of cleanliness and the use of materials, and order stocks as necessary.
  • Deal with any issues efficiently and in a professional manner, referring to line manager where appropriate.
  • Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevant SLAs.
  • Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well-maintained, and in safe working order.
  • Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
  • Always maintain security – locking doors, following lost property procedures, etc.
  • Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
  • Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials, and approved chemicals used by Mitie.
  • Set a good example in terms of dress, behavior, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises.
  • Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
  • To undertake any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will have previous supervisory and cleaning experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude.
  • Ability to work to a schedule and as part of a team.
  • Be open and honest.
  • Be self-driven and determined.
  • Strive for continuous improvements in service delivery.
