We are seeking a highly skilled Biosystems Operator to join our team at Stericycle. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our Biosystems plant.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the efficient receipt, emptying, and cleaning of reusable sharps containers, preparing them for dispatch and reuse.
- Operate the Biosystems Wash line and Autoclave Plant in line with company-set KPI targets, ensuring high-quality control and stock management.
- Effectively control the receipt and dispatch of waste containers, transporters, and roll cages, ensuring safe loading and unloading practices.
- Maintain accurate operational records and data, including shift reports, BMS data entry, and productivity reports.
- Provide assistance with breakdown/defect repairs and support to Maintenance Engineers, minimizing plant downtime.
- Conduct shift inspections, including work-safe observations and reporting of good catches.
- Review handover from previous shifts, ensuring resource distribution plans are in place and completing shift handover reports and KPI reporting.
- Maintain high levels of housekeeping and safe working areas during each shift.
- High school or equivalent education.
- 0-1 year of experience in a related field.
- Basic knowledge of environmental services and waste management.
- Certifications/Licenses: COSHH, IOSH, Forklift, Confined Space, Environmental Permitting & Awareness, Emissions Monitoring, Accident & Investigation, Permit To Work, Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment, Asbestos Awareness, Legionella Awareness, Fire Awareness, Working At Height, Hand Arm Vibration, Electrical Safety, Fire Marshal, MEWP, Tower Scaffold, Slinging & Lifting.
