Biosystems Operator

About the Role:
Stericycle is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Biosystems Operator to join our team at Knostrop Treatment Works. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our Biosystems plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the efficient receipt, emptying, and cleaning of reusable sharps containers.
- Prepare containers for dispatch and reuse, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good working order.
- Operate the Biosystems Wash line and Autoclave Plant in line with company-set KPI targets.
- Ensure waste containers, transporters, and roll cages are emptied, cleaned, and stored safely.
- Control the receipt and dispatch of waste containers, transporters, and roll cages, adhering to internal policies and processes.
- Maintain accurate operational records and data, including shift reports, BMS data entry, and productivity reports.
- Provide assistance with breakdowns, defect repairs, and support to Maintenance Engineers.
- Conduct shift inspections, including work-safe observations and reporting of good catches.
- Review handovers from previous shifts, ensure resource distribution plans are in place, and complete shift handover reports and KPI reporting.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping and safe working areas during each shift.
Requirements:
- High school or equivalent education.
- 0-1 year of experience in a related field.
- Basic knowledge of waste management and environmental compliance.
- Certifications in COSHH, IOSH, forklift operation, and other relevant areas.
