Advanced Speech and Language Therapist for Inpatient Care

Position Overview
Are you a skilled professional in pediatric communication and swallowing disorders with a background in acute healthcare settings? Our Inpatient and Feeding Speech and Language Therapy Team is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to enhance our dynamic and collaborative group. This role is a full-time, fixed-term position aimed at providing essential support to our diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality specialist speech and language therapy service for both inpatients and outpatients experiencing feeding and communication challenges due to a variety of complex conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and implement management strategies for developmental and acquired communication difficulties within an acute care framework.
- Engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, educators, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Operate as an independent practitioner while utilizing the department's supervision framework and fostering peer support among fellow specialists.
- Contribute to the formulation and enhancement of service delivery plans, policies, and care protocols related to dysphagia and communication disorders.
- Participate in the training and development of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as other healthcare staff, in collaboration with senior team members.

Essential Qualifications
- Recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
- Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
- Current license to practice from the Health Professions Council.
- Advanced training in dysphagia management.
- Experience in clinical supervision and training.
Desirable Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications in feeding difficulties.
- Clinical Master's Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
