Principal Electrical Engineer

Barrow-in-Furness

Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts

Competitive salary: GBP45,000 - GBP64,000 + Excellent benefits package, car allowance and overtime available

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead a team of engineers and drive the success of our electrical projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing capital projects from initial feasibility study to final close out, ensuring KPIs for safety, cost, time, and specification are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage capital projects from initial feasibility study to final close out, ensuring KPIs for safety, cost, time, and specification are met.
  • Lead root cause failure analysis and 4-step problem solving.
  • Champion, role model, and continuously improve all safety requirements, including the supervision of the technical support team and contractors. Includes the Permit to Work process, Risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Complete hands-on planned and reactive maintenance across the site, as well as leading work on any ongoing and upcoming projects.
Requirements
  • Electrical bias.
  • Must be able to PLC programme.
  • Degree level or apprentice trained with excellent experience.
  • Able to mentor/train members of the team.
  • Manufacturing, packaging, or FMCG background.
  • Instrumentation experience.
  • Experience with safety circuits.
  • Experience with high voltage distribution systems.
