Job Summary

Axalta is seeking a highly skilled Reliability Maintenance Engineer Lead to join our team at our facility in the UK. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement by analyzing data and identifying patterns within that data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Equipment Failure Data: Identify trends and patterns in equipment failure data to inform maintenance strategies.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Investigate underlying causes of equipment failures to develop effective solutions.
  • Design and Implement Maintenance Procedures: Develop and implement new maintenance procedures for equipment monitoring and testing to ensure optimal performance.
  • Research and Implement Innovative Technologies: Stay up-to-date with market trends and implement innovative technologies and processes to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Develop and Implement Training Programs: Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement training programs for employees to integrate reliability across the organization.
  • Monitor Property, Facilities, and Equipment Conditions: Identify maintenance needs and implement upkeep schedules to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop Strategies for Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and effectiveness.
  • Oversee Preventative Maintenance Processes: Ensure that preventative maintenance processes are effective and efficient.
  • Manage Contractors: Manage contractors on site carrying out engineering and other works.
  • Performance Management: Evaluate, train, and develop maintenance staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Work Experience: Around 10 years of relevant work experience in the manufacturing of liquid coatings.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of liquid coatings and manufacturing processes.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills and adaptability.
  • Industry Experience: Experience within the chemical industry.

  • Technical Aptitude: A strong understanding of systems, equipment, and processes.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Data Management Skills: The ability to use statistical analysis tools and interpret and communicate the results of the analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Identifying and implementing ways to continuously improve reliability.
  • Safety-Conscious: The ability to identify potential hazards and take the necessary steps to mitigate them.
  • Process Hazard Awareness: Technical understanding of process safety requirements and the ability to maintain legal compliance to UK legislation.
