Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Leeds, UK (Hybrid)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team at Digital Waffle. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing our development and deployment processes. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, Docker containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Deploy AWS Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Kubernetes Cluster Management: Manage Kubernetes clusters and orchestration.
  • Docker Container Development: Develop and maintain Docker containers.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process, e.g. GitLab.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IAC): Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Automation and Scripting: Write Python scripts for automation and custom tools.
  • System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot system and application issues.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role.
  • AWS Expertise: Strong expertise in AWS services and solutions.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization technologies.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Programming Skills: Solid programming skills, especially in Python.
  • IAC Tools: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, as well as strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have:

  • AWS Certifications: AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Cloud Provider Experience: Experience with other cloud providers (Azure, GCP).
  • Programming Languages: Knowledge of other programming languages and scripting languages.
  • Monitoring and Logging Tools: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack).
  • Security and Compliance: Security and compliance expertise.
