Bolton, Bolton, United Kingdom Together Trust Full time

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Children's Residential Support Worker to become part of our dedicated team.

Are you passionate about positively impacting the lives of vulnerable children and young individuals? Our residential service focuses on providing essential support for youth with autism and learning challenges, helping them to develop independence, enhance communication, and improve social skills.

Together Trust stands as one of the North West's premier charitable organizations, delivering personalized care, support, and educational services to numerous children, young people, and adults annually. As a not-for-profit entity, we ensure that every resource is reinvested into enhancing the lives of those we serve.

In this role, you will work within a nurturing home environment alongside a collaborative team under the guidance of the Registered Manager, offering care, affection, and support akin to that of a family setting.

Position Details:

  • As a Children's Residential Support Worker, your responsibilities will include addressing the needs of the children, organizing activities while considering the unique and sometimes complex health requirements of the young individuals.
  • You will utilize your initiative and collaborate with your team to prepare and assist the young people in achieving their personalized care plans. Effective communication will be key as you work closely with a team dedicated to enhancing their quality of life.
  • Flexibility is essential as you undertake a comprehensive range of duties in a thoughtful manner that respects and values each child as an individual.

We are committed to providing compassionate and nurturing care for children facing crises and complex needs, guiding them towards a brighter future.

What We Seek in a Candidate:

Previous experience in childcare is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided; however, any relevant experience is advantageous. We are looking for candidates who possess the following attributes:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for liaising with staff, parents, and professionals.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership when necessary while fostering open and honest communication.
  • Proficiency in written English and IT skills, as you will be responsible for documenting reports and tracking the progress of the children.
  • A valid driving license held for at least 12 months is desirable, as transporting children to activities or school is part of the role.
  • If you lack direct experience with children, we welcome candidates with transferable skills that could be beneficial in this position.

Our Offerings Include:

  • 27 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after five years and 33 days after ten years.
  • A generous pension scheme with contributions up to 7% and death in service benefits.
  • Occupational sick pay and family-friendly policies, including enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
  • Access to a rewards and discount platform for various services.
  • Free on-site parking and a cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Eligibility for the Blue Light card.
  • Recognition as a real living wage employer.
  • A referral program rewarding you for bringing friends to join our team.
  • Extensive training and development opportunities, including apprenticeship qualifications.
  • Long service awards, including cash bonuses and additional holiday.
  • Promotion of employee wellbeing, including mental health support and wellness activities.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your household.

We prioritize creating a supportive and caring environment for all employees, emphasizing a healthy work-life balance, which is invaluable.
