As a Registered Manager in our Ofsted rated GOOD home, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating Individualized Care Plans: Ensure that each young person has a personalized plan addressing their care, educational, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
  • Building a Strong Team: Collaborate with recruitment teams to attract the right talent for your home. Oversee the induction and personal development of staff to maintain a consistent team for the young people.
  • Encouraging Young People's Voices: Establish systems to involve young individuals in discussions about their care.
  • Assigning Key Workers: Designate a Key Worker for each young person to implement their care plan effectively.
  • Upholding High Standards: Set and monitor care quality standards in alignment with regulatory requirements and the home's objectives.
  • Addressing Complaints and Concerns: Take charge of resolving any complaints or safeguarding issues.
  • Collaborating with Stakeholders: Work alongside parents, guardians, and other professionals to enhance the welfare of young individuals.
  • Participating in Meetings: Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as necessary.
  • Promoting a Safe Environment: Ensure that the children in your care receive the highest standard of support.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a role related to residential care for children, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity within the last 5 years.
  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a commitment to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Skills: Proficient in planning, organization, budget management, resource allocation, and team leadership.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding Trauma: Awareness of the needs of children with behavioral, emotional, and social challenges, including strategies for managing difficult behavior.
  • Driving License: A full UK driving license is required.
