About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team, working with vulnerable students who require additional support with their Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to students, both inside and outside the classroom, to help them overcome their personal challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to address the specific needs of each student, including those with PTSD, Anxiety, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
  • Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to create a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress and behaviour, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with students who have SEMH, PTSD, Anxiety, or EBD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
