About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide essential support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to students, both inside and outside the classroom, to help them overcome their personal challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to address the specific needs of each student, working closely with teachers and other professionals.
  • Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress and behaviour, providing regular updates to teachers and other stakeholders.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to students as they navigate their academic and personal challenges.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with students who have SEMH, PTSD, Anxiety, or EBD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • A genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable students.
