Position Overview
As a Youth Support Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) educational setting. This position involves:

  • Working full-time, five days a week, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Providing individualized support to students, either on a one-on-one basis or in small groups.
  • Assisting learners with literacy, numeracy, and various subject areas.
  • Supporting students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Offering assistance to those experiencing mental health issues and anxiety.
  • Delivering comprehensive support focused on social, emotional, behavioral, physical, mental, and academic development.

Collaboration
You will work closely with the SEN (Special Educational Needs) team, senior leadership, department heads, parents, caregivers, social workers, and other professionals involved in the multidisciplinary approach to each child's education.

About the Institution
This special educational establishment caters to young individuals aged 7-18 who face difficulties in mainstream educational environments and hold an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) for SEMH needs. The institution provides long-term placements for students who are disengaged from traditional education, have faced permanent exclusion, or are at risk of exclusion. Many of the students are Looked After Children.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of six weeks of experience working with children within the last three years, supported by references.
