About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Alstom UK&I. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to ensure the delivery of EHS excellence across multiple projects.

Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing strategies to manage and improve EHS standards, ensuring compliance with UK regulatory and industry requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders, including Country Managers, to achieve sustainable EHS excellence and provide a safe and healthy environment for our people and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support to the team on all aspects of EHS, including policy development and communication.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve EHS standards, ensuring compliance with UK regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve sustainable EHS excellence and provide a safe and healthy environment for our people and contractors.
  • Monitor progress against EHS objectives and communicate effectively with the team and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with new changes to UK Regulatory and industry EHS requirements and communicate these to the team.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards) / NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate
  • IEMA Certificate or equivalent
  • Internal Quality Auditor
  • Good knowledge of Construction and CDM Regulations
  • Experience of working with ISO14001, ISO45001
  • Working knowledge of Railway specific standards
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
