Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement object-oriented programming (OOP) methodologies in automation initiatives.
  • Enhance existing frameworks by integrating new classes and pages, contributing to the ongoing maintenance of the framework.
  • Create and sustain CI/CD pipelines for automation scripts.
  • Oversee team tasks, provide mentorship, troubleshoot challenges, and offer strategic guidance.
  • Participate in code reviews, manage pull requests, and resolve code conflicts.
  • Lead the development and upkeep of automation frameworks that facilitate efficient testing and development practices.
  • Refactor existing codebases to improve scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Apply SOLID design principles in automation projects to ensure high-quality, modular, and reusable code.
  • Integrate automation tools into the Test Life Cycle (TLC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes to optimize testing and deployment workflows.
  • Conduct static code analysis and enhance code coverage using tools like SonarQube to ensure the reliability and quality of the automation code.
  • Develop and maintain tools that support both development and testing efforts, enhancing overall team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engage in stakeholder reporting, effectively communicating automation initiatives, outcomes, and their impact on project timelines and quality.
  • Write code aimed at improving the overall testability of software, ensuring that software designs support robust and efficient testing strategies.
  • Contribute to the Inspired Testing Community of Practice.
  • Continuously improve and contribute to Inspired Testing's standards.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge and application of OOP principles in automation contexts.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues, troubleshoot complex issues, and guide project direction.
  • Proficient in code review processes and effective in resolving merge conflicts.
  • Advanced understanding of automation framework design and maintenance, focusing on creating scalable and reusable components.
  • Proficiency in refactoring and applying SOLID design principles to automation projects.
  • Strong skills in integrating automation within TLC and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Expertise in using code analysis tools like SonarQube to uphold high standards of code quality and coverage.
  • Ability to develop tools that enhance the efficiency of development and testing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder reporting and team collaboration.
  • Strong coding skills with a focus on enhancing software testability.
