Curriculum Manager for Maths and English

We are seeking an experienced Curriculum Manager to join our team at People Plus, a leading provider of education and skills training. As a Curriculum Manager, you will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and enhancing the Functional Skills curriculum at HMP Millsike, a brand new prison opening in Spring 2025.

The successful candidate will have a relevant first degree and/or professional qualification, as well as a teaching qualification. They will have a commitment to the Reduction of Re-Offending through Education and Skills and experience of managing curriculum development and change, quality, systems, processes, and the performance of teaching staff in ways that have improved learner outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop a comprehensive functional skills curriculum tailored to the prison education environment, covering English, mathematics, and ICT at various levels.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Lead, support, and mentor a team of functional skills tutors, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Analyse data related to learner progress, retention, and achievement, and use this data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the development and procurement of teaching materials and resources, ensuring that all resources are utilised effectively and efficiently and are appropriate for use within the prison context.
