Position: Senior Underwriter - Commercial Combined

We are looking for an Experienced Commercial Underwriter to enhance our Commercial Combined division, contributing to our growth strategies. This role emphasizes open market dealings, including delegated authority, and involves overseeing a varied portfolio across different sectors. The position encompasses a blend of responsibilities, including leadership tasks and the underwriting of intricate business scenarios.

Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
  • Underwrite accounts within your designated authority to meet business objectives, including managing case referrals and supervising Peer Review processes.
  • Engage actively in pertinent meetings to exchange and develop strategies, insights, and best practices.
  • Assist in Broker Distribution & Engagement Plans in partnership with the Market Management Team.
  • Build and sustain robust relationships with Brokers and Clients, reinforcing QBE's standing as a reliable and innovative risk partner.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to provide cross-class client solutions and enhance engagement.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as Risk Solutions, Claims, Operations, and Market Management, to deliver customer-centric solutions.
Ideal qualifications for this role include:
  • Demonstrated experience in underwriting Property and Casualty accounts.
  • Extensive network of Brokers with established connections.
  • Strong negotiation and trading skills, along with excellent interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively engage, lead, and manage a team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of class-specific underwriting and reinsurance practices.
