Our growing Large-Corp onshore construction team are looking for a Construction Underwriterbased in London.
**Your Team**
At Allianz Commercial we specialise in offering construction insurance / reinsurance solutions forsome the most complex and challenging construction risks in the UK and internationally. Ourdynamic team leverages extensive practical experience, successfully underwriting both projectand annually renewable business including commercial and residential building projects, civilinfrastructure / transportation projects, hydrogen production, power and utilities, LNG, chemicalsand manufacturing plants and electric vehicle battery manufacturing plants.

Join Allianz Commercial's market leading Large-Corp Construction Underwriting team as anUnderwriter, where you will specialise in crafting and implementing innovative insurance /reinsurance Construction and Erection All Risks solutions, on behalf of our key clients and brokersto help achieve the teams financial goals. Based in our London office, you will engage with ourkey clients and broking partners in the London and international market. Your responsibilities willinclude developing, negotiating, and underwriting insurance / reinsurance solutions for major UKand international clients, ensuring profitable portfolio growth, and fostering strong relationshipswith our key brokers and clients. You will also collaborate closely with our Distribution, RiskConsulting, Claims, and Operations teams who are integral to our success.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Achieve profitability targets by effectively underwriting new and renewal businessacross the Large-Corp Construction line of business adhering to UnderwritingAuthorities, Guidelines, and Functional Rules.
- Ensure contract certainty is established for all accounts at inception.
- Facilitate collaboration with other functional areas, including our Distribution, RiskConsulting, Claims, and Operations teams to enhance the overall underwriting process.
- Manage referrals and conduct 4-eye reviews with underwriters across the Region, toensure consistency and help promote learning.
- Actively contribute to the development and execution of the regional underwritingstrategy, aligning with organisational goals.
- Grown and maintain positive relationships with key clients, brokers, and internal andexternal stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and driven environment. Support preparation of management reporting and analytics and ensure high levels ofdata quality.
**What You’ll Bring to the Role**:
- You have at least 5 years’ experience underwriting profitable business in theConstruction market.
- Ideally you are CII qualified or equivalent or working towards it.
- You have recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and arewell established within your current role.
- You have a specialised understanding of the UK / London / International Constructioninsurance markets and competitor landscape.
- You are able to negotiate effectively achieving the best outcome for your portfolio whilemaintaining positive business relationships with your clients and brokers and offer greatcustomer service.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- You are capable of leveraging data and analytics to promote more efficient andeffective ways of working
- You have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework
- You can design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts.
