Key Responsibilities

The Senior EPR Support Specialist will:

- Maintain an in-depth, expert-level understanding of the EPR systems to provide comprehensive guidance and support to end users.
- Ensure the successful implementation of system upgrades.
- Develop and uphold business continuity strategies.
- Collaborate with Service Leads to create service-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Advocate for the significance of the EPR system and promote its utilization.
- Monitor adherence to service level agreements.
- Effectively oversee the performance of the EPR supplier.

Job Overview

The selected candidate will provide advanced technical support for clinical systems to both acute and community end users. Responsibilities include:

- Managing the EPR account for the specific Trust site, ensuring effective application support and development.
- Building strong collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders alongside the Systems Team Manager.
- Ensuring compliance with Change Control Procedures, maintaining up-to-date Requests for Change (RFCs), and submitting necessary documentation to the Change Control Board.
- Offering expert technical support for the Acute and Community EPR systems and Clinical Portals, ensuring a comprehensive support service.
- Supporting service redesign initiatives and ensuring systems adapt to meet evolving requirements, including articulating complex technical issues to a diverse audience.
- Coordinating with third-party suppliers regarding system configuration updates and communicating effectively with the Trust.
- Leading the implementation of system upgrades, managing smaller projects and acting as the lead for larger initiatives.
- Ensuring that implementation plans align with new service requirements.
- Managing the resolution of incidents, problems, and change requests efficiently, adhering to Trust standards and protocols.
- Overseeing the escalation and monitoring of incidents reported to external agencies, ensuring timely communication and accurate data submission.
- Assisting in the maintenance and continuity of systems, providing specialized technical support as needed.

Qualifications and Training

Essential
  • Postgraduate education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
Desirable
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
Experience

Essential
  • Extensive experience within the Health Service sector.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale programs involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in driving organizational change.
  • Capability in designing and delivering IT training programs.
  • Substantial experience with Cerner configuration and build processes.
Desirable
  • Experience with Community EPR configuration and Health Information Exchange (HIE).
  • Certifications in Cerner build.
Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced keyboard and technical skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience with Cerner build processes.
  • Ability to work independently to analyze and enhance processes.
