About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner, you will be working within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team, providing assessment and treatment to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's mental health needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to provide holistic care.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and family therapy, to support children and young people's mental health recovery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and their families, ensuring they feel supported and empowered throughout the treatment process.
  • Participate in regular case reviews and contribute to the development of service improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the NMC or relevant professional registration.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and their families.
